Excel VBA (Visual Basic for Applications) is the name of the programming language of Excel. VBA lets you automate many aspects of Excel by writing Sub and Function procedures (also known as macros). A good knowledge of VBA can save time and make you a much more productive Excel user.

Course Learning Outcome

This 3-day course will equip learners with the knowledge and ability to automate most tasks in Excel using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Learners will learn how to record macros and script Excel to automate procedures and processes. Learners need not have programming background to pick up these skillsets as they will be guided to code from scratch using the intuitive language of VBA. A good knowledge of VBA can help save time, simplify and streamline work processes, and improve productivity at work.


Pre-requisites
  1. Be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualifications (ES WSQ) Workplace Literacy (WPL) Level 6 (Sec 4); and
  2. Be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ WPL Level 6 (Sec 4);
  3. Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES WSQ WPN Level 6 (Sec 4)
  4. Understand advanced Excel formatting options, including conditional formatting and customised cell formatting
  5. Understand relative cell reference vs. absolute cell references
  6. Recognise which functions to use in formulas
  7. Know how to sort and filter data
  8. Know how to summarize data with Pivot Tables

Criteria:

  • Applicant must either be a Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident of Singapore and;
  • Applicant must be at least 21 years old and;
  • Applicant must achieve at least 75% attendance, and pass all examinations/assessments and;
  • Applicant is taking the course for the first time


Avantus reserves the right to charge the full course fee (without subsidy) if any of the conditions above are not met.

Singapore Citizens aged 25 years and above will be able to utilize their Skillsfuture Credits to offset against nett fee payable
